I have been “watching” the Samsung LN55A950 for a long time now and decided to “pounce” now that it is being discontinued. Will not repeat all the very helpful comments across many websites that state this is one of the best TVs out there. But be careful as those made before September 20, 2008 have a prior firmware version as well as older hardware (longer story — see AV forum) and I wasted a lot of time (with Samsung) trying to decipher the Serial Number on the box being held for me. (Turned out that mine was February 2009, so I’m in good shape) It is totally wonderful to watch and now quite well priced IF you can find it. The 55 inch is the most difficult to find but PC Richards in New York, New Jersey still have a few left. So go get one, you will not be sorry!

First of all, I have been a Sony buyer for many, many years. When my 15 month old 52 inch Sony went out; I asked a repairman which TV brand he would recommend. He told me Samsung. I have had this set for only a few days; but we are in total shock. Absolutely beautiful. The colors are amazing. Hands down, one of the finest sets out there even today in my opinion.

THE AMAZING PICTURE QUALITY GIVES YOU THE THE SENSE THAT CHARACTERS APPEAR AS IF YOU CAN REACH OUT AND TOUCH THEM. SOUND QUALITY IS EXCELLENT.OF NOTE INCLUDES 18 MONTH PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY. Amazing picture quality. One thing you notice immediately is how black is black color on this tv.

Content is a nice extra! Works great as a pc monitor.
There is a reason why Samsung is highly rated in consumer report.
